Serves as an Operations Manager in a terminal or en route facility, responsible for planning and directing the operations in the facility; or planning and directing multiple support activities for the facility such as training, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, and other facility program areas. Candidates must demonstrate specialized experience, defined as: Having held an FAA 2152-FV-J/FG-14 or higher regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks); OR Having been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; (Note: an employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an upgraded ATS facility is considered to meet the qualification requirements of the higher graded position, as they have been performing the higher graded work) ; Having held an MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility. Note: There are no restrictions on who can apply to MSS vacancies at facilities with 3 or fewer MSS levels. Applicants should refer to the MSS position chart to determine eligibility for specific career levels. Candidates will be evaluated on four "Managerial Selection Factors." Applicants must provide narrative responses addressing their experience related to each factor, including the name, title, organization, and contact information of at least one reference who can verify their capabilities. Failure to address these narratives will result in disqualification.
