Procurement Market Intelligence Manager

Overview
The Procurement Market Intelligence Manager provides strategic direction and leadership to deliver deep market insights and analytics that enhance procurement decision-making. This individual will manage a team of Procurement Market Intelligence specialists tasked with leveraging market research and data analytics to drive procurement excellence, support category strategy, and mitigate supply risks.


This position will oversee the collection and analysis of internal and external market data, monitor industry trends, and provide actionable intelligence to inform sourcing strategies, risk management, and cost optimization initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with category managers and senior procurement leadership to ensure data-driven decision-making across the organization.



Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with Procurement Leadership to identify and understand organizational needs, driving continuous improvement efforts and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to manage Procurement Market Intelligence programs.
  • Manage a team responsible for providing spend analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, and should-cost analysis to support sourcing decisions, while offering coaching and feedback to team members.
  • ssess and implement internal and external best practices and research to ensure state-of-the-art Procurement Market Intelligence methodology, processes, and tools.
  • Enhance Procurement Market Intelligence processes and procurement data through various reporting tools.
  • Serve as a liaison between procurement, finance, and other functional areas, ensuring strategic, value-added relationships to improve procurement cost efficiencies and customer procurement plans.
Requirements

Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (one year of experience for every one year of college).
  • 8 years of experience in Procurement, Procurement Analytics, Market Intelligence, or a related field.
Desired
  • MBA or graduate degree.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong background in data analysis, market research, and procurement market intelligence, preferably within industries such as utilities, energy, or construction.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
