Responsibilities: • Work directly with tenants to gather information, document housing issues, and help them understand their rights • Maintain client relationships with patience, empathy, and encouragement • Assist attorneys in developing case strategies and pushing cases toward resolution • Summarize key information from lease agreements, inspection reports, and legal documents • Prepare and file litigation documents, including disclosures, notices, motions, and subpoenas • Track court deadlines and maintain case calendars for hearings, depositions, and mediations • Communicate professionally with opposing counsel, courts, and government agencies • Track time on cases in a comprehensive and complete manner Qualifications: • Passion for helping underserved communities and standing up to bad landlords • Experience in social work, tenant advocacy, housing programs, or community support is a big plus • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple cases at once • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you’ll be working closely with clients in stressful situations • Ability to problem-solve and take initiative in moving cases forward • Proficiency in Microsoft products, Adobe Acrobat, case management software and court filing systems (training provided) • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience in social work, advocacy, or housing services will be considered in lieu of a degree Compensation: $60,000 with bonus potential
