The Monitor Technician will monitor patients on telemetry consoles, making an impact through vigilant observation. Apply today and explore how MedStar Health can be your next great career move! Primary Duties: Document rhythm every two hours on EKG flow sheet. Immediately report any changes in cardiac rhythm to the nurse. Obtain strips of irregularities. Maintain charge requisitions on monitored patients. Notify nursing staff of the need for electrode replacement or new patient connections. Ensure the safe and effective operation of the Monitoring Console. Keep paper loaders full. Monitor assigned telemetry console. Obtain monitor strips at the start of each shift, interpret, date, and time-stamp each strip, then place on flow sheet. Provide verbal reports to relief personnel and patient reports to incoming technicians. Verify and adjust alarm limits as established for the individual patient. Ensure alarms are active at all times. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Experience with emergency situations and maintaining continuous strips of cardiac rhythms.
