**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and management of our golf course. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in turf management, a passion for the game of golf, and a commitment to providing an exceptional golfing experience for our members and guests. This role involves coordinating the care and improvement of the golf course, ensuring optimal conditions for play, and supervising a team of maintenance staff.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Turf Management:** Maintain the overall health and appearance of the golf course's turf, including fairways, greens, tees, and roughs through proper agronomic practices.
- **Irrigation Systems:** Oversee the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems; ensure efficient water management and conservation practices are implemented.
- **Pest and Disease Control:** Develop and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to identify, monitor, and control pests and diseases affecting the turf.
- **Budget Management:** Assist in preparing and managing the annual budget for golf course maintenance while ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
- **Staff Supervision:** Recruit, train, and supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff; establish schedules and ensure that staff adhere to safety and quality standards.
- **Equipment Maintenance:** Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment; ensure that all machinery is in good working order and operates safely.
- **Course Improvements:** Plan and implement course improvement projects, including renovations and enhancements to landscaping, bunkers, and water features.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with the golf professional staff to coordinate course setup and prepare for events and tournaments.
- **Communication:** Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding course conditions, schedules, and staffing needs; address member feedback and concerns promptly.
- **Compliance:** Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning environmental practices, chemical applications, and worker safety.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, pest management, irrigation practices, and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks as required.
- Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) designation preferred.
- Proficiency in golf course management software and basic computer applications.
