Job Description: The business may decide to collaborate with another Crowe member firm or a third-party vendor in another country to onboard a worker outside of the US to support a project/engagement. However, there will be times when the business prefers to relocate a US employee to another country to support a project/engagement. In these cases, the Global Mobility Lead serves as a strategic advisor and operational leader, overseeing all aspects of cross-border employee movement and international assignments. Rather than being a deep technical subject matter expert in every area (e.g., tax law or immigration), this individual acts as a strong integrator —connecting business needs with the right internal and external resources to enable effective mobility operations and cross-functional relationships to support global workforce agility. The role requires a solid understanding of global workforce dynamics, the ability to operationalize key processes, advise on new policies, and the judgment to navigate complex issues across the firm and its vendor ecosystem. The Global Mobility Lead partners closely with internal Operations, Firmwide Risk Management (FRM), HR, Legal, Finance, business leaders and external immigration counsel to align mobility execution with the firm’s strategic objectives to expand globally. Responsibilities Develop and execute a global mobility strategy that aligns with workforce planning and business expansion goals. Oversee and optimize the full lifecycle of international assignments and cross-border short term projects from business case through execution and monitoring. Design and maintain enterprise-wide mobility policies, tools, and governance frameworks that are equitable, compliant, scalable and cost-effective. Act as a strategic advisor to Enabling Functions including Operations, FRM, Talent, Finance and Business Unit leadership, providing insights on international trends, risks, and opportunities. Identify and address process bottlenecks, build relationships, improve vendor performance, and drive coordination with speed and efficiency. Build and establish sustainable processes that support global mobility beyond short-term fire drills—enabling long-term, consistent delivery and profitability. Collaborate with BU Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Tax, and Finance teams to forecast upfront costs and monitor expense, and support budgeting and ROI assessments. The business needs to understand the total costs of the relocation before deciding to proceed. Champion an outstanding employee experience by providing end-to-end support, from pre-departure counseling through repatriation and reintegration. This resource will be in frequent communications with the employees who are moving. Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions, monitor program effectiveness, assess risk and produce executive-level reporting. Partner with internal legal, HR, and international tax teams and external advisors to monitor global compliance risks related to international reporting, tax, immigration, and other regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with internal controls and legal frameworks. Contribute to internal change management efforts related to global mobility, ensuring stakeholder alignment and employee engagement during transitions. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive experience in global mobility, international operations, or project management experience. Understanding complex mobility processes and ability to collaborate across the firm. Proven success in leading complex, cross-border workforce programs from design through execution. Understanding global strategies, assignment types, and cost structures. Strong operational and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost modeling, and vendor management. Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; able to influence and advise senior stakeholders across functions. High degree of comfort with AI tools and emerging technologies to drive process efficiency and innovation. Prior experience in a professional services or matrixed global organization preferred. We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship. These values define who we are. We expect all of our people to act ethically and with integrity at all times. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
