Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Site Civil Engineering to lead our team of engineers in our Woodbury, Long Island, New York location. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in civil engineering, with a deep understanding of both private and public sectors. This role requires a leader who can manage complex projects, write compelling proposals and help drive the growth of our site civil engineering division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of civil engineers in public and private sector projects.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of various engineering projects.
• Write and review proposals to secure new projects and clients.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the site civil engineering division.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Drive business development efforts to expand our market presence of our transportation and infrastructure practice in Woodbury, with a primary focus on the New York City and surrounding market and agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, PANY/NJ, Counties, etc.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines and standards of public and private sector work required by the regulating authorities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 12+ years of experience in site civil engineering, public and private sector projects.
• Strong technical design skills.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Strong knowledge of the New York market (Long Island and Manhattan), including both private and public sectors.
• Excellent proposal writing and business development skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

*The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, and geographic location.
