The purpose of the Consultant role is to drive quality analysis and insights within your assigned projects. Your work will involve gathering, interpreting and presenting information in an impactful and compelling way to help drive client insights and engagement delivery. Role Responsibilities Client Impact & Engagement : Supporting Partners, Principals, Engagement Leaders in the delivery and may act as primary client liaison Preparing project plans, tracking progress and preparing client reports Facilitating and working with client teams with a client first mindset, managing and designing client sessions Designing a range of consulting solutions, communications, creative assets, reports and other deliverables that meet client needs Taking responsibility and ownership over assigned work, proactively managing to completion Ensuring work is “client ready” (e.g. error free, aligned with expectations, ready to be shared with client) and actively managing expectations with team (especially during any draft-revision processes) Achieving target utilization of 70% People : Leading project work streams under guidance of Partner or Principal Coaching and mentoring Analysts and Interns Working alongside and collaboratively with our creative team Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues across Heidrick & Struggles Collaborating with both our support organization and that of the client to keep work on track Planning and prioritizing work ensuring team deadlines and quality standards are met Developing and maintaining professional presence and behavior Interacting with the client team, is aware of own impact Building personal reputation as a trusted and respected team player (via work quality and behavior) Acting as a role model, operating at the highest ethical standards, (living our proprietary methodology with clients and team, operating at the highest ethical standards, living the firm’s values) Firm Building : Contributing to proposals (informing content/design/pricing/timelines and activities, pulling relevant case studies and IP) and mobilizing ‘won’ initiatives Developing relationships with individual clients and building networks Contributing to internal initiatives, supporting the ongoing improvement of the business and employee experience Knowledge : Building and sharing reusable, client ready materials, insights (including case studies) and project learnings Contributing to thought leadership and supporting the development of product, tools, and methodologies Actively develops self with a learning mindset to build own capability to support a broad range of consulting activity Basic Role Qualifications 2-6 years of professional work experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a management, strategy, leadership, talent, culture consulting environment. Experience working directly with clients in a professional services, team-based environment. An undergraduate degree is required. Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word, Adobe InDesign, Canva and other creative software; easily able to adopt new technologies and software. Excellent business and creative writing skills with a proven track record of success preparing concise and compelling reports as well as components for employee engagement campaigns and deliverables Preferred Role Qualifications Occupational/Organizational Psychology, MBA or other relevant graduate degree. Demonstrated interest in leadership, people, culture, commercial dynamics, organizations and behavior; leads with curiosity – about others, our business, our clients’ businesses. Prior experience showcasing thinking agility; thinking ahead, analyzing and solving problems proactively, bringing fresh ideas and navigating ambiguity, and operating with great attention to detail. Internal communications and employee engagement experience Proven commercial awareness / business acumen. Building advanced domain expertise in one or more disciplines (leadership assessment & development, succession planning, team & board advisory, organizational culture, purpose and structure, DE&I). Demonstrated ability to deliver or support flawless client deliverables. Other language skills a plus. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel locally and globally as required.
