Job Description *This is an on-site position; not remote eligible* Performs the essential duties and responsibilities of the Clinical Informatics Analyst. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities related to the implementation and application of the organization’s clinical software and medical data management. Focuses on creating continuous value in clinical software and data application to support clinical practice, aligning with organizational goals. Promotes teamwork across departments and addresses non-routine problems with effective communication skills. Maintains industry-specific knowledge and judgment relevant to the role.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Full Time 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; scheduled on-call

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

General Responsibilities: Install, configure, support, and maintain clinical software applications. Build and sustain relationships with clinical staff and leadership to improve clinical IT assets. Collaborate with hospital staff and super-users to optimize system functionality and clinical workflows. Document all clinical applications, including implementation, maintenance, training, workflows, and quality measures. Maintain configuration documentation for rapid deployment and repair. Ensure application security in compliance with hospital policies, HIPAA, and industry standards. Monitor software performance and capacity to ensure operational continuity. Research and recommend new technologies to meet hospital objectives. Ensure compliance with hospital and industry standards for software and workflows. Perform routine preventive maintenance for security and performance. Provide input for projects and training related to software components. Analyze and resolve software faults, prioritizing impact severity. Coordinate with other departments for hospital tasks and projects. Monitor software resource use to ensure policy compliance. Daily Operations: Resolve support requests efficiently and courteously. Perform routine maintenance activities. Participate in meetings, committees, and projects as assigned. Contribute to departmental knowledge base and documentation. Collaborate with hospital staff within and outside HIS department. Provide regular updates on tasks and projects. Identify areas for improvement within expertise areas. Deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders. Maintain industry knowledge relevant to the role.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Science, Business, or Informatics preferred; relevant healthcare experience may substitute. Current Texas RN license preferred. Healthcare Informatics experience or clinical knowledge/licensure considered. 1-4 years of clinical informatics analyst experience required. Proficiency in Cerner Millennium, Nursing and Physician Documentation, Pharmacy, and Medication Administration systems. Strong customer service and communication skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting limits: 35 lbs. for clinical staff, 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. Assistance required for heavier lifts. #J-18808-Ljbffr Midland Health
