After completing the Claims Training program, the Claims Adjuster Trainee will manage a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution, including investigation, analysis, medical and legal management, and client relations. As experience grows, so will the complexity and number of claims handled. Responsibilities Complete classroom training on workers’ compensation claims handling, medical terminology, and legal concepts. Develop skills such as investigation, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and strategic planning; review and interpret medical records. Investigate reported claims to determine coverage, compensability, severity, and gather relevant information, including making three-point contact calls. Calculate and adjust reserves for each claim as needed. Develop and update action plans for claim resolution. Assign tasks to Claims Assistants and ensure proper execution. Identify and escalate potential fraud early. Communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and injured workers. Prepare settlement recommendations and negotiate claims within authority limits. Coordinate with attorneys, nurse case managers, and investigators to achieve successful claim resolutions. What You'd Bring To The Role High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Effective communication skills; Spanish fluency preferred. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
