Position Summary:

P17 Solutions has an immediate need for a skilled Air Traffic Control (ATC) Training Specialist to support the FAA's Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. This ATC Training Specialist shall provide Subject Matter Expertise in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training products for air traffic controllers and facility personnel. As TFDM is deployed across terminal facilities nationwide, this role ensures controllers are fully prepared to operate the system safely and effectively from day one of operational use.

The ATC Training Specialist will work closely with FAA training organizations, facility personnel, TFDM deployment teams, and system engineers to create tailored, high-fidelity training aligned with local procedures, national policy, and system capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the TFDM training lead for assigned terminal sites, managing planning, scheduling, and delivery of all controller training events.
• Develop and deliver TFDM training content, including instructor-led classroom materials, simulation scenarios, e-learning modules, and job aids.
• Tailor national TFDM training materials to reflect local facility adaptations, airspace configurations, and operational procedures.
• Facilitate coordination between FAA Academy, local training teams, and national program staff to ensure training materials remain current and standardized.
• Support training validation through dry runs, table-top exercises, and simulation-based scenarios to ensure operational realism.
• Provide direct instruction and mentoring to controllers and support staff during training sessions, shadow operations, and post-cutover support.
• Participate in Training Needs Assessments (TNA), task analyses, and training effectiveness evaluations.
• Document and incorporate lessons learned into training plans and contribute to updates in national TFDM training curriculum.
• Support transition-to-operations planning by aligning training delivery with deployment milestones and site readiness

Pursuant to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, FAA Order 1600.1F and FAA Order 1600.78 employees are required to submit fingerprints and pass a 7-year background investigation. Employees may also be required to pass a drug test.
