Alphatec, an award-winning architecture & engineering firm in DC, is seeking a Proposal Expert with A/E/C Government RFP experience . This role requires strong Adobe InDesign skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple proposal submissions under tight deadlines.

Not a fit if: you’re a general graphic designer, social media marketer, or freelancer with no A/E/C government proposal experience.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and produce compelling, compliant proposals for federal and local government A/E pursuits.
• Ensure strict compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements, formatting, and submission guidelines.
• Review RFP and submit RFI to clarify proposal submission requirements and refine our response.
• Collaborate with technical staff (architects, engineers, and PMs) to gather, organize, and tailor project data, resumes, and narratives.
• Design and produce layouts, graphics, and charts using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office to create visually compelling proposals.
• Ensure quality control (proofreading, formatting, compliance with requirements).
• Maintain and update marketing collateral: templates, resumes, graphics, and project data base.
• Support marketing efforts including presentations, award submissions, and client collateral.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of A/E/C proposal experience (government RFPs required).
• Proven experience producing government RFP submissions in SF330 format.
• Ability to produce detailed relevancy matrices based on RFP evaluation criteria.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office (required).
• Strong graphic/layout skills (Photoshop/Illustrator a plus).
• Strong writing, editing, and compliance review skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field (Architecture/Engineering background a plus).

What We’re Not Looking For

• General Graphic Designers with no proposal or A/E/C experience.
• Marketing or Social Media Specialists whose work hasn’t involved government RFPs/RFQs.
• Freelancers only — we need someone committed to joining our in-house team.
• Candidates without Adobe InDesign proficiency (this is non-negotiable).
• Applicants with no experience in AEC firms (Architecture, Engineering, or Construction) or proposal production.
